
Stallions Pull out Independence Day Win over Jamestown

Saugerties, NY - The Saugerties Stallions hosted the Jamestown Jammers for an Independence Day match-up between Trevor Lloyd (Tusculum) for the Jammers and Nick Zwack (Xavier) for the Stallions, which Saugerties would win by a final score of 3-2.
Jamestown struck first in the top half of the second inning after a sac fly off the bat of Rane Pfeifer (Cal-State Northridge), scoring Brandon Nania (Winston-Salem) to give Jamestown a 1-0 lead.
Saugerties would later come on back to tie the game at one in the third inning after a solo homerun by left-fielder James Gargano (Butler).
After the Stallions loaded the bases in the fourth, Cameron Comer (Virginia) came to bat and had an RBI after he was walked, to score Andrew Taft (Le Moyne), giving Saugerties a 2-1 lead.
The Stallions added a late insurance run in the eighth inning after Dillon Lifrieri (Arkansas) reached on an infield hit followed by a throwing error, allowing Jordan Kozicky (Minnesota) to score, giving them a 3-1 lead.
The Jammers showed some life in the top of the ninth by scoring a run on a ground ball, but eventually fell to the Stallions by a score of 3-2.
Stallion's pitcher Nick Zwack earned the win and Jammers pitcher Trevor Lloyd took the loss, as Trey Hinkle (Bloomsburg) picked up his third consecutive save.
The Jamestown Jammers play next on Friday, June 6 at the Newark Pilots while the Saugerties Stallions play again at the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs on Thursday, July 5.
