
St. Lucie Mets Employee Troy Moriarity Wins Florida State League Scholarship

Port St. Lucie, FL - The St. Lucie Mets are pleased to announce that Troy Moriarity has been selected as one of the twelve 2009 Florida State League Scholarship Winners. Moriarity will be awarded a $1,500 scholarship for his academic and extra-curricular excellence.
This is the tenth straight year that the Florida Marlins and Florida State League have teamed up to fund the Florida State League Scholarship Program. The scholarships are presented to a student employee, child, or grandchild of an employee of Florida State League teams. Selection is based upon grades, financial need, leadership capabilities, and job performance. A total of 120 scholarships have been awarded to qualified applicants since the inception of the program.
Moriarity will be a senior at St. Lucie West Centennial High School in the fall and is a member of the Men's Tennis team. Moriarity has been a "utility" employee with the St. Lucie Mets for three years and is highly deserving of this award. The staff of the St. Lucie Mets wishes him the best of luck through his future endeavors.
