St. Louis City SC News Release
ST. LOUIS - St. Louis CITY SC added their eighth international player to the inaugural MLS roster, bringing in Swedish winger Rasmus Alm on a free transfer, the club announced today. Alm is signed through 2025 with an option for '26 and will occupy CITY SC's eighth international spot.
"We are excited to bring Rasmus onto the roster for the 2023 season and beyond," said Sporting Director Lutz Pfannenstiel. "He brings great European experience from IF Elfsborg, who play in Allsvenskan the top tier of Swedish football, while also competing in the UEFA Europa League Qualifiers last season. Alm's technical ability and speed on the wing will prove to be helpful in the attacking third."
Alm, 27, has spent the last four seasons with IF Elfsborg, amassing 27 goals and 17 assists in 108 matches. During his stint, he has competed in the UEFA Europa League Conference League Qualifiers in 2021-22 season and the 2022-23 season. In eight UECL Qualifiers, Alm tallied one goal and one assist.
Alm began his senior career at 18 with Landskrona in 2013. He made his debut on September 14 in a 4-1 win over Hammarby. From 2013 through 2018, Alm made 85 appearances for Landskrona with 12 goals and 15 assists. He then went over to play with IF Brommapojkarna in 2018. He made seven appearances with Brommapojkarna then went on to play for Degerfors IF for 16 matches in the 2019 season. Alm recorded five goals and four assists for Degerfors.
