St. Germain Named Goaltender of the Week

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Youngstown SteelHounds goaltender David St. Germain has been named the CHL Oakley Goaltender of the Week for the week of December 19.

During the week, St. Germain went 1-0 seeing action in a pair of games. On December 22, the Brossard, Quebec native allowed two goals on 20 shots in relief of Simon St. Pierre who took the loss in the 5-2 Amarillo victory. The following night, St. Germain ended the Gorillas seven game win streak by stopping 37 of 38 shots in a 7-1 victory.

On the season, St. Germain is 7-10-1 with a 3.19 goals against average and a .912 save percentage (ninth in the CHL). The veteran netminder is 2-2 in his last four decisions stopping 160 of 167 shots (.958 save percentage). Over his last five games, St. Germain has allowed one goal twice, two goals once, three goals once and recorded his first shutout of the season on December 13th in Fort Worth.

St. Germain becomes the second SteelHounds player to earn league recognition joining Jeff Christian who was named the CHL Oakley Player of the Week for the week of October 31st.
