St. Francis Renews Youth Indoor Football League Sponsorship

(COLUMBUS, GA)- The Columbus Lions are proud to announce that St. Francis Hospital has renewed their official sponsorship of the Youth Indoor Football League. "We are blessed to live in a community that gives so much back to the youth of Columbus. St. Francis has been a great supporter and with the expansion of the league from 6 teams to 16 teams, their sponsorship will help continue our mission of positively developing the lives of Columbus's youth through the sport of football," said Head Coach Jason Gibson. The money from St. Francis will help keep the registration costs affordable for each child to participate by defraying rental, uniform, equipment, and staffing fees.
The Columbus Lions are entering their 2nd season of their Youth Indoor Football League in which they have partnered with Columbus Parks and Recreation and Julia Crocker, president of Columbus Youth Football. We have had an overwhelming response from the community and will be expanding the league from 6 teams to 16 teams this year and adding an additional age group, 11-12 year olds. Our goal is to give back to the community and provide other means of participation for Columbus youth. The Columbus Lions are providing every participant with uniforms, venue for the games, and awards at the end of the season. All YIFL games are played on the same day as Lion's home games starting with April 4th. The idea is to create an all day event at the Civic Center with games beginning at 8:00am and continuing throughout the day until 5:00pm at which time the Columbus Lions will take the field for pre-game.
We will be hosting a Columbus Youth Football Night on May 30th 2009. We will be recognizing the league champion from the past season (Edgewood). We are providing over 1000 tickets to all the boys and girls that participated in Columbus Youth Football and Cheerleading programs. Visit www.columbuslions.net and click under community.
