June 23, 2004 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Philadelphia Colonials News Release

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Philadelphia Squires Owner Wayne Butler announced today the hiring of Jeffrey Wilson as general manager of the new American Basketball Association (ABA) team.

"I am pleased to announce the addition of Jeffrey Wilson to the Squires family," said Butler. "Jeffrey brings a lot of creativity and a wealth of learned experience as a former intern with the Philadelphia 76ers. We are extremely excited about his role as the new Squires general manager."

Wilson spent two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers organization. A 2004 summa cum laude graduate of Temple University's sport and recreation management program, Wilson initially interned with the 76ers public relations department. Most recently, he served as the team's basketball operations intern, where he worked with the front office and coaching staff while assisting in preparation for the 2004 NBA Draft. During his collegiate career, Wilson also worked with the athletic departments at Temple and Syracuse Universities.

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to stay in Philadelphia and work with the Squires," said Wilson. "The prospect of being able to help build a team and establish our identity in the region is appealing. Philadelphia fans expect the best – and rightfully so. I am confident that we will assemble a team and coaching staff that lives up to those high standards."
