Springfield Falcons Release Forward James Livingston from PTO

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons have released forward James Livingston from his professional try-out contract, Falcons Director of Hockey Operations Bruce Landon announced today.
Livingston, 25, appeared in six contests since signing a PTO with the Falcons on Feb. 26. He has also skated in 47 games with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL this season, posting 12-18-30 along with 51 penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound winger split the 2013-14 season between the Worcester Sharks and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League. He accumulated 4-11-15 and 22 penalty minutes in 53 appearances with Worcester, while racking up 4-4-8 with nine penalty minutes in 14 contests with Manchester. The Halifax, Nova Scotia native has skated in 208 career AHL contests, earning 21-43-64, 156 penalty minutes and a +8 rating.
Prior to his professional career, Livingston spent five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League from 2006-11 with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and Plymouth Whalers, tallying 82-91-173 and 484 penalty minutes in 316 games played.
Livingston was drafted in the third round, 70th overall, by the St. Louis Blues in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
