Sports win over Pensacola 9-5

Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release


The Shreveport Sports, wearing the 1983 Captains uniforms, scored all nine of their runs in the third and fourth innings to defeat Pensacola 9-5 at Fair Grounds Field Saturday. After Pensacola had taken a 1-0 lead in the top of the third, the Sports exploded for five runs in the bottom of the third, highlighted by a three-run home run by Terrence McClain. McClain finished the night with two hits and five RBI's to lead the Sports attack. Shreveport scored four times in the fourth as Bobby Bratton led off the inning with a home run off losing hurler Zach Cline. Thad Markray pitched seven innings for the Sports to pick up the victory. Shreveport and Pensacola will close out the series Sunday at 2:05, which will be the final game of the first half of the season.
