
Sports Sign Former LSU-S Pitcher

Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
The Shreveport Sports announced today the signing of former LSU-Shreveport pitcher Daniel Welch. Welch, was a senior hurler for the Pilots this past season and had a record of 8-2 with a 3.50 ERA. In 16 games this year, he had 10 starts and recorded 58 strikeouts and 19 walks in 69.1 innings of pitching.
Since he finished the season at LSU-S, Welch has been playing in a summer wooden-bat league in Western Canada.
Welch joins the Sports today and will take the roster spot of Derek Cunningham, another LSU-Shreveport product, who has been released. He is the third player to join the Sports from the LSU-S program this year.
He played his high school baseball at Parkway High School in Bossier City.
