First-year head coach Benny Feilhaber and SKC II kept their winning streak rolling with a 2-1 victory at Earthquakes II. Guy Michaeli and Esai Easley netted their first professional goals and John Pulskamp picked up his first MLS NEXT Pro win. Newcomer Kian Alberto played the full 90, picking up an assist on the first goal.
Spencer Glass rejoined the SKC II starting XI after a brief stint with the Sporting KC first-team in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 32. Mikey Lenis got back into the starting XI as well and signed a professional contract with SKC this past Thursday.
Looking to Sunday's match, SKC II's offense has been blazing lately. Headlined by Sporting KC Academy Product Mataoe Bunbury, the Sporting KC II frontline has netted eight goals in the last three matches. Bunbury leads the squad with four goals and has added one assist. Joining Bunbury on the attacking front is forward Julian Vazquez who is available for selection after signing a short-term loan with Sporting KC. Vazquez has two goals and a team-high three assists.
Collin Fernandez is the man in the middle for SKC II. The captain has a goal, two assists and alongside midfield counter-part, Cade Thomson has turned SKC II into a lethal set-piece team.
Whitecaps FC 2 suffered an opening match defeat to Dynamo Dos and has picked up seven results in their next eight matches. Most recently, they picked up a 2-2 draw against MNUFC 2 at Swangard Stadium, losing out on the extra point in penalties. Robert Antoniuk and Emiliano Brienza lead WFC 2 with three goals apiece.
