February 28, 2024 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Sporting Kansas City News Release
Sporting Kansas City announced today that Iowa State University wide receiver Jaylin Noel has joined the club's Sporting U NIL Program under a new Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) agreement.
The Kansas City, Missouri native and Park Hill High School alum enters his senior season this fall with a reception in 32 consecutive games - the fourth longest streak in Iowa State history - with 165 receptions for 1,661 yards and 10 touchdowns in his collegiate career.
Noel, a co-captain for the Cyclones, was named Second Team All-Big 12 in 2023 after leading Iowa State with 66 receptions and seven receiving touchdowns. The 21-year-old became the first FBS player since 2014 to have four 50+ yard receptions, two 50+ yard kick returns and two 30+ yard punt returns in a single season.
Off the field, Noel has garnered numerous academic accolades including Big 12 Academic All Rookie Team, Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Academic All-Big 12 Second Team honors. A communication studies major, Noel was recognized as a Big 12 Student-Athlete of the month in December.
Noel is now one of six local products competing at the NCAA Division I level participating in the Sporting U NIL Program during the 2023-24 school year:
University of Missouri kicker Blake Craig (Liberty North HS alum)
Kansas State University defender Jericho Frigon (Liberty HS alum)
University of Missouri midfielder Keegan Good (Park Hill South HS alum)
University of Kansas forward Hallie Klanke (Lee's Summit West HS alum)
University of Kansas running back Devin Neal (Lawrence HS alum)
Iowa State University receiver Jaylin Noel (Park Hill HS alum)
The Sporting U NIL initiative is designed to provide a platform for Sporting Kansas City to celebrate and interact with homegrown athletes on college campuses across the Midwest region who have excelled in their sports. The Sporting U NIL Athletes receive a financial stipend for social media engagement as well as tickets for Sporting KC home matches and merchandise from SportingStyle. The club's investment in the Sporting U NIL program also includes further value for student-athletes through assistance with strategic marketing and brand building campaigns in addition to professional development resources, including mentorship and networking connections.
Collegiate athletes interested in receiving more information about Sporting U NIL can visit SportingKC.com to contact the club for future consideration. Men's soccer players are ineligible to sign NIL agreements with Sporting Kansas City to remain in compliance with all conflict-of-interest protections in place for NCAA sanctioned student-athletes.
