
Spongebob and Kroger Plus Card Day highlight Dazzle's weekend games

Roanoke, Va., February 14 - The Roanoke Dazzle announce a pair of dazzling events for this Friday and Saturday's games. Friday's game is highlighted by the annual appearance of Spongebob Squarepants, with tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m. as the Dazzle take on the Florida Flame. Then in a Saturday afternoon matinee the Dazzle present Kroger Plus Card Day, where fans can receive Free tickets into the game. Saturday's game starts at 1:00 p.m., as the Dazzle host the Fayetteville Patriots.
Always one of the highlights on the Dazzle schedule, Spongebob Squarepants will be making his annual appearance at the Dazzle game this Friday, February 17th. This will be the third consecutive year for Spongebob to entertain the fans at a Dazzle game. Along with entertaining the crowd, Spongebob will be available to meet and interact with fans as well as have pictures taken with children and adults alike.
On Saturday afternoon, it is Kroger Plus Card Day when fans can receive FREE tickets to the game, compliments of Kroger. To receive these free tickets compliments of Kroger, fans need to show their Kroger Plus Card at the Roanoke Civic Center Box Office and they will receive their tickets. Tip-off for Saturday's game is slated for 1:00 p.m. as the Dazzle face the Fayetteville Patriots.
Tickets for this weekend's games are available at the Roanoke Civic Center Box Office or at www.tickets.com. Children age 12 and under are just $7.50, while adult tickets are $10 and $16.50. Groups of 15 or more people can receive special discounted tickets of just $7.50 per ticket when ordered in advance through the Roanoke Dazzle office by calling (540) 266-1000.

The NBA Development League includes the Albuquerque Thunderbirds (N.M.), Arkansas RimRockers (Little Rock), Austin Toros (Texas), Fayetteville Patriots (N.C.), Florida Flame (Ft. Myers), Fort Worth Flyers (Texas), Roanoke Dazzle (Va.) and Tulsa 66ers (Okla.).
The D-League offers players the opportunity to develop their talent in a highly competitive atmosphere under the NBA's umbrella. Thirty-eight (38) players have been called up to the NBA on 56 separate occasions. Eleven (11) former D-League coaches, six athletic trainers, 14 referees and 30 front office executives have also been called up since the start of the league's inaugural season in November 2001.
Designed to help grow the sport of basketball both domestically and internationally, the league also offers fun, family entertainment at affordable prices. The D-League is a source of on-court talent for the NBA's 30 teams and is a diverse human resources pool for the NBA and its teams by training employees in management, operations, public relations, sales and marketing positions.
