SPOKANE, Washington (November 18, 2015) - The Spokane IFL franchise has signed running back Andrew Pierce to their 2016 roster.

Pierce (RB, 5-9, 210, Delaware) joins Spokane for his second season as a member of the IFL after playing his rookie year with the Tri-Cities Fever in 2015 for Head Coach Adam Shackleford. In 13 games with the Fever, Pierce recorded 121 carries for 415 yards and 21 touchdowns. He was also third on the team with 49 receptions for 406 yards and six scores. Pierce led the Fever in kick returns on the season as well, recording 38 returns for 661 yards (17.4 average yards per return). His efforts during the 2015 IFL season earned him Second Team All-IFL honors at running back.

"Andrew is a premier back. He is tough, strong, and one of the most natural team leaders I have ever coached," said Head Coach Adam Shackleford. "Last season playing for me he earned all-league honors and did not fumble once all year. He was a heavily sought after free agent this off-season and we are thrilled to have him in Spokane."

Pierce had as difficult a road as a college football player can take on. After a successful senior season at his New Jersey high school (Cumberland Regional) he received only one scholarship offer which led him to become a walk-on at the University of Delaware. He would go on to earn the starting role at running back before the end of his freshman year's pre-season practices.

During the next four seasons with the Blue Hens, Pierce would see action in 47 total contests and record 930 carries (first in school history) for 4,534 rushing yards (second in school history) and 44 touchdowns (third in school history). He also added 103 receptions for 687 yards and five scores.
