
Spitfires' Wellwood Named To Western Conference Roster For The 2010 OHL All-Star Classic

Toronto, ON - The Ontario Hockey League today announced that forward Eric Wellwood of the Windsor Spitfires has been added to the Western Conference All-Stars roster for the 2010 OHL All-Star Classic. The event begins tomorrow, February 2, with the Skills Competition at 7:00 pm followed by the All-Star Classic on Wednesday night February 3 at 7:00 pm at the K-Rock Centre in Kingston, ON. Wellwood replaces Phil McRae of the Plymouth Whalers who is unable to participate due to a family matter.
Wellwood, a 19-year-old from Oldcastle, ON, is playing in his fourth OHL season with the Spitfires. Already in the midst of his best offensive season of his career with 28 goals and 29 assists for 57 points in 50 games played and is ranked 16th overall in league scoring. Wellwood was selected in the sixth round, 172nd overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
It starts tomorrow! The Eastern Conference is aiming for a fifth-straight win at the 2010 OHL All-Star Classic. Over the years the game has featured many players that have moved on to be NHL stars including the last three players to be selected first overall in the NHL Entry Draft including Patrick Kane, Steven Stamkos, and John Tavares.

Tickets to the 2010 OHL All-Star Classic events can be purchased separately at $25 for the Skills Competition on Tuesday February 2 and $30 for the Game on Wednesday February 3. Both events begin at 7:00 pm with tickets available by going on-line at www.k-rockcentre.com or by calling 1-877-KLIVE-99. They may also be purchased at the K-Rock Centre box office at 1 Barrack Street in Kingston.
