Toledo Spitfire News Release
ROSSFORD, OHIO- The Toledo Spitfire of the National Women's Football Association (NWFA) has released their 2005 regular season schedule. This season will see a change in scheduling as the NWFA has switched from a divisional schedule to conference play. What that means for the Spitfire is that they will play more teams and see more competition. While the Spits will still be taking on traditional rivals such as Columbus and South West Michigan, new rivals will be established by taking on expansion Cincinnati in the season opener and then facing Baltimore in the home opener on April 30th. The home portion of the Toledo schedule will have fans seeing teams that have never played in the Glass City before. After Baltimore, the rest of the home schedule finds the Spitfire matching up with Milwaukee, Kentucky, and Pittsburgh. Once again this year, all Toledo games, home and away, will be broadcast online. Mik Gonzales, the voice of the Spitfire, will return for his second full season behind the microphone to bring Toledo football fans all the action, all season long.
