Saginaw, MI - Saginaw Spirit General Manager Dave Drinkill announced today (Sept.2) the organization has signed defenseman PJ Forgione (FOHR-gee-OH-nee) to a Standard Player Agreement and Education Package.

"As an organization, we are excited to add PJ Forgione to our roster," said Drinkill. "PJ has tremendous speed and skill to complement his size and physicality. He also possesses a knack for jumping up in the play at the right time to help create offensive opportunities. All of those qualities make PJ an ideal fit for our program. We welcome him to the Saginaw Spirit family."

Forgione was selected by the Spirit in the sixth round, 118th overall in the 2021 OHL Under-17 Priority Selection Draft. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound 16-year-old hails from South Burlington, Vermont, but now resides in Novi, Michigan.

During the 2020-21 campaign, Forgione scored 19 points (9 goals-10 assists) in 45 games for the Oakland Jr. Grizzles 16U. The late 2004-birth year is eligible for the 2023 NHL Draft.

Forgione will wear No. 27 this year for the Spirit.
