Saginaw, Mich. - The Saginaw Spirit (12-7-0-1) welcome the Sarnia Sting (9-13-0-0) to the Dow Event Center for their fourth matchup this season on Saturday, November 25th.

Saginaw advanced its winning streak to eight games on November 22nd with a 6-3 win over the Flint Firebirds at the Dort Financial Center. Newly acquired Rodwin Dionicio scored twice in the first period for the Spirit, with Michael Misa adding a power-play marker, Zayne Parkeh adding a shorthanded goal, and Hunter Haight and Calem Mangone each scoring at even strength. Saginaw's Andrew Oke manned the crease, making 25 saves in the victory.
Sarnia lost to the Flint Firebirds on November 19th by a score of 5-1 at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena. Flint's Zacharie Giroux and Gavin Hayes each grabbed a pair of goals, while Jacob LeBlanc banged home his fourth of the year for the Sting's only goal. Nick Surzycia started in goal stopping 15 of 19 shots.
This Season:
Saginaw and Sarnia have played three times this year, with the Spirit winning two. The first game took place September 30th. Justin Cloutier's first OHL goal combined with Joey Willis's first of the year led the way for a 2-1 Spirit win. Sarnia would seek revenge a month later on October 28th. Sandis Vilmanis scored shorthanded, while a Jacob LeBlanc powerplay goal and Andrew LeBlance empty netter set a 3-1 final score. The most recent battle took place on November 7th where Vegas Golden Knights prospect Matyas Sapovaliv scored the game winning goal 3:44 into the third, sealing a 3-2 Saginaw victory that would act as the second of their current eight-game win streak.
Players to Watch:
Saginaw's point lead is currently tied between Michael Misa, Rodwin Dionicio, and Zayne Parekh, all currently with 25 points. Both Dionicio and Parekh are knotted atop the team's assist race (17) and Michael Misa leads the team outright in goals (11). Rodwin Dionicio has five points (3G, 2A) in just three games with the Spirit. Andrew Oke's 2.60 goals against average (GAA), .908 save percentage (SV%), and 305 saves are all team leaders, including a 6-0-0-0 record in the month of November.
Sarnia's point leader is Sandis Vilmanis with 21 points (6G, 15A). The assist category is led by defensemen Jacob LeBlanc (16) while Tyson Doucette and Zach Filak split the team lead with 11 goals. The Sting's goaltending categories are split between Nick Surzycia and rookie Karsen Chartier, who have very close numbers going into this game. Surzycia is sporting a 3.52 GAA and an .879 SV%, while Chartier has an 3.56 GAA and a .880 SV%.
