Spirit import Mursak and Zaborsky with signing

Forwards Jan Mursak and Thomas Zaborsky have signed their contracts to play in the Ontario Hockey League for the Saginaw Spirit. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Mursak was drafted 33rd overall by the Spirit in the 2006 CHL Import Draft. The 1988 born player from Maribor, Slovenia plays at the right-winger position and was selected 182nd overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Zaborsky was drafted to play for the Spirit with the 36th pick. The 1986 born left-winger is a native of Trencin, Slovakia. Zaborsky joins Spirit Forward Tom Pyatt as a Ranger Prospect, being selected by New York 137 overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Ontario Hockey League rules allow each team to have two active European players on their roster. Previous European Spirit players include Thomas Csabi Georgi Misharin, Denis Yachmenev, Marek Kvapil, Michal Birner and Vaclav Meidl.
