Saginaw, Mich. - The Saginaw Spirit (21-40-1-0) return to The Dow Event Center Saturday night to face the Sarnia Sting (25-30-4-1) for the seventh of eight meetings in the regular season. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.

Head-to-Head

The Sting have taken four of the six meetings so far this season, but it was the last game in Sarnia on Mar. 25 that provided the highlight of the season so far for the Spirit. Down 8-4 with just over three minutes to go, the Spirit scored four times to tie the game. In overtime, Dalton Duhart completed the come comeback with a power play goal for his fourth of the game and career-high, sixth point of the contest. After winning the first three games, Sarnia is looking to sweep on the road against Saginaw for the first time since the 2012-13 season.

Last Time Out

Saginaw: The high-powered offense of the Soo Greyhounds were looking for retribution for their 2-1 loss suffered in Saginaw on Tuesday, and filled the net with frequency Friday night in the Soo, resulting in a 9-3 defeat for the Spirit. The Spirit received goals from Nick Wong (19), Pacey Schlueting (2), and Pavel Mintyukov (16), but the Soo's defense tandem of Robert Calisti and Jack Thompson combined for seven points to lead the way for the Hounds. After the Spirit went seven-for-seven on the penalty kill Tuesday, the Hounds power play bit back Friday, going two-for-three and scoring a shorthanded goal as well.

Sarnia: The Sting have had trouble moving past the devastating overtime loss to the Spirit on Mar. 25, losing three straight since. The latest came at the hands of the division-leading Windsor Spitfires, Thursday night. Dallas Stars prospect Wyatt Johnston scored a goal and two assists for the Spits, while Matthew Maggio scored twice. Nolan Burke's 32nd goal of the season provided the only offense for the Sting in a 5-1 defeat. Sarnia is only three points ahead of Erie for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with eight games to go for both squads.
