Spirit Charity Teddy Bear Toss Saturday

(Saginaw, MI) The Saginaw Spirit are hosting their annual Meijer Teddy Bear Toss - sponsored by Meijer, Kodiak Construction and the Citadel Broadcast Family - on Saturday, December 15th. The team takes on the London Knights at 7:11 PM at TheDow Event Center in Saginaw.

When the Saginaw Spirit score their first goal on Saturday, fans can throw teddy bears onto the ice! The bears are collected and donated to charity - this year's recipients are the Salvation Army and the Saginaw County First Responders. Fans can bring their own teddy bears to toss, or purchase one at the game! The proceeds from teddy bears sold go to support the Just For Kids Foundation.

Spirit captain Ryan McDonough has tallied the 'Teddy Bear Toss goal' the last two seasons, and will lead the Spirit offense against the London Knights. One of the best teams in the league, the Knights hosted the Spirit on December 15th, 2007. The Spirit were down 2-0 but came back to push the game into a 4-on-4 overtime; the Spirit lost 4-3 in overtime but got a point out of the contest.

Spirit fans are invited out to see the re-match between the two teams, and take part in a fun and exciting way to support charity - the Meijer Teddy Bear Toss!
