
Special Presale for MLS Cup 2007 Tickets Begins Thursday, Aug. 2

NEW YORK (Wednesday, August 1, 2007) -- Major League Soccer announced today that tickets for MLS Cup 2007 will go on sale to the public in a special one-week presale for Visa cardholders beginning Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007. This will be the first chance for fans to purchase tickets to Major League Soccer's premier event, MLS Cup. The exclusive presale will run from Aug. 2 to Aug. 8. Beginning Aug. 9, tickets will be available to the general public, without restrictions.
Starting Aug. 2 at 10:00 a.m. ET fans may use their Visa card to purchase tickets during an exclusive presale only available online at www.dcunited.com, www.mlscup.com or by calling D.C. United's ticket office at 202-587-5000. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and are only available while supplies last. There is a limit of four tickets per customer for the presale. Visa is a proud sponsor of Major League Soccer.
Beginning Aug. 9, fans my also purchase tickets through all Ticketmaster locations. Once the general sale begins Aug. 9, fans will still receive priority seating locations when ordering with their Visa card through D.C. United's box office and web site and through www.mlscup.com as long as seating inventory is available. The 12th MLS championship game, MLS Cup 2007, will be played on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 12:00 p.m. ET at RFK Memorial Stadium in Washington D.C. This will mark the third time MLS Cup has been held in the nation's capital at the home of D.C. United. The game will be broadcast live on ABC Sports and Telefutura.
The previous 11 MLS Cups have attracted nearly 407,000 fans (an average of 36,987 per game) to see MLS' season-ending championship. Last year's game was held at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas home of FC Dallas and drew a sellout crowd of 22, 427 to watch the Houston Dynamo defeat the New England Revolution 4-3 on penalty kicks.

Tickets can be purchased at D.C. United's box office at RFK Stadium during business hours, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Ticket prices range from $30-$75, with four different seating options fans can choose from. MLS Cup 2007 is the 12th annual championship game of Major League Soccer and will match the league's Eastern and Western Conference Champions in a single match finale. The two contending teams will be determined on the weekend of Nov. 10-11. MLS Cup 2007 will include three days of game related activities (Nov. 16-18) in the Washington D.C. area.
