
Spearing Picks Up Three Assists Leading to Petes' Game Four Win

(Peterborough, ON) - On Thursday, April 20, the Peterborough Petes hosted the Ottawa 67's for game four of their best-of-seven Eastern Conference Semi-Final series. The Petes won the game 3-1, taking a 3-1 lead in the series.
The game saw a fan take home a record 50/50 jackpot of $9,668 in honour of longtime Petes volunteer and Booster Club founding member, Betty Nelson. A portion of the proceeds from tonight's 50/50 will be donated in Betty's name, courtesy of the Peterborough Minor Hockey Council.
Shawn Spearing led the way for the Petes, picking up three assists on the night. Brennan Othmann, Chase Stillman, and Owen Beck all scored, while Avery Hayes, J.R. Avon, and Brian Zanetti added assists. Michael Simpson stopped 19/20 to improve his 2023 playoff record to 7-1.
