AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Augusta Spartans donned pads Wednesday evening for their first full-contact preseason practice.
"The intensity was there from the start and I was pleased with that,'' said Spartans coach Bubba Diggs. "We just need polish."
Diggs gave credit to linebackers Ralph Scott and Sherrod Davis for their efforts Wednesday.
"Ralph gets better every day," Diggs said. "Sherrod told me before practice he was determined and hungry, and he lived up to that."
The Spartans continue preparations for their season opener Feb. 11 against the Daytona Beach Thunder.
