Augusta Colts News Release

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Willie Butler and Anthony Young each scored two touchdowns as the Augusta Spartans advanced to World Indoor Bowl I with a 25-19 victory over the Osceola Ghostriders in the World Indoor Football League playoffs before 3,096 at James Brown Arena Saturday night.

The Spartans (9-6) will face the host Columbus Lions (10-4) next Saturday. Osceola finishes 6-9.

In the lowest scoring game in the league this season, Young scored both an offensive and defensive touchdown, the latter when he scooped up a fumbled Ghostrider interception and returned it to give Augusta an 18-13 lead. Following a Shon Rowser UNO, Butler's second score put the Spartans ahead 25-13.

Osceola closed to six points on Brandon Sumner's 30-yarder to Terrance Bunting with 8:08 remaining. The Ghostriders had one more chance to go ahead late in the game, but Kijana Thomas preserved the victory with his second interception.

The Spartans managed only 75 total yards and league-leading scorer Marvin Stone was held without a touchdown.

The Ghostriders were without quarterback Rob Harding and two starting lineman - Corey Haynes and David Aubrey. Aubrey's wedding was Saturday, with Harding and Haynes serving as ushers.

Sumner threw for 108 yards and one touchdown while rushing for 43 yards and another.
