Sox win second straight series

Sox Defeat Missoula 2-1

Missoula, MT- Tonight the Great Falls White Sox defeated the Missoula Osprey 2-1 at Play Ball Park in Missoula. James Casey (1-1) picked up the win in relief as he worked an inning and two-thirds, without allowing a hit or run. The loss went to Greg Smith (3-2) as he worked seven innings, allowing two runs on six hits.

Missoula would score first in the game when they were able to get an RBI single by Rusty Ryal in the first inning.

The pitching was excellent from that point on. Sox starter Yunior Novoa worked five innings allowing that only run on five hits.

Great Falls would then get on the board in the seventh inning on a lead off homerun to center by Manny Rodriguez. Later in the inning, Eric Hollis singled home Brandon Allen to put the Sox up 2-1.

The Sox then used James Casey, Boone Logan and Matt Nachreiner to work four scoreless innings out of the bullpen to go on to a 2-1 win.

Tomorrow night the Sox will continue the road trip with a doubleheader against the Billings Mustangs. The starters for the game are: Game 1, Noe Rodriguez (LHP) for Great Falls and Carlos Fischer (RHP) for Billings; Game 2, Clayton Richard (LHP) for Great Falls and Jose Rojas (RHP) for Billings. Game time is at 6:05pm and can be heard on 560AM-KMON starting at 5:50.
