Sox Sweep Osprey

Great Falls, MT - Tonight the Great Falls White Sox defeated the Missoula Osprey 4-2 at Centene Stadium. Carlos Torres (1-0) picked up the win as he worked six innings, allowing one run on two hits while striking out nine. The loss went to Mark Romanczuk (0-1) as he worked five innings allowing four runs on five hits. The save went to Ryan Rote (1) as he worked an inning and a third.

In the ballgame Great Falls score three times in the first inning. The first four batters all reached base and Garrett Guest, Brandon Allen, and Manny Rodriguez all had RBI.

In the fourth inning, Missoula got a homerun from Osvaldo Diaz to cut into the lead. However, in the bottom half of the inning the Sox would get that run back when Daron Roberts homered over the left field wall to put the Sox up 4-1.

Missoula would again cut into the lead in the eighth. Diaz had a two out RBI double to drive home Greg Thomson to make the score 4-2. That would be all the Osprey would get as the Sox went on to win 4-2.

Tomorrow night the Sox will have off before opening up a seven game road trip on Monday night in Casper. The starters for the game are: Paul Moviel (RHP) for Great Falls and Alan Johnson (RHP) for Casper. Game time is at 7:05pm and can be heard on 560AM-KMON starting at 6:50.
