Casper Ghosts News Release
Friday night the Casper Rockies offensive attack returned as they defeated the Ogden Raptors, 8-5, in the opener of their quick two-game set. The Rockies began the night with Trevor Allen knocking in two runs with a first inning double.
Two innings later, Cole Garner belted his fifth homer of the season, a three-run shot to left to put the Rockies up 5-1. Ogden's Russ Mitchell hit two home runs, keeping the Raptors close. Casper would then add two more runs in the 7th and one more in the 8th.
Anuery Rodriguez worked the first five innings for Casper but did not figure in the decision. Lefty Jay Metzger worked two innings of relief for his first win of the season, and Andrew Johnston was stellar again, earning his fourth save. Johnston tossed and inning and a 1/3rd striking out three of the four hitters he faced.
Casper and Ogden complete their two-game series tonight at 7:00. The Rockies have Sunday off before returning home to host the Great Falls White Sox Monday night.
