Sox Defeat Missoula 15-6
Missoula, MT Tonight the Great Falls White Sox defeated the Missoula Osprey 15-6 at Play Ball Park in Missoula. Yunior Novoa (1-3) picked up his first win of the season as he worked six innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits. The loss went to Anthony Cupps (2-4) as he worked four and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs (four earned) on five hits.
Great Falls trailed 2-0 until the fifth inning. In the fifth, the Sox sent 12 men to the plate and scored seven times. In the inning, the big hit came from Matt Tribble as he had a three RBI triple. Daron Roberts also added a two-run homerun.
The Sox wouldn't stop there. In the sixth, Great Falls put six more runs on the board. Brandon Allen and Javier Castillo each had two run hits in the inning.
The teams would than exchange runs late in the game and the Sox would go on to win 15-6. In the game JJ Schmidt went 3 for 4 with a walk and two runs scored. Matt Tribble was 2 for 5 with 4 RBI and 2 runs, and Brandon Allen was also 2 for 5, with 2 RBI and 2 runs.
Tomorrow night the Sox will play the second game of this brief two game road trip with the Missoula Osprey. The starters for the game are: Carlos Perez (LHP) for Great Falls and Mark Romanczuk (LHP) for Missoula. Game time is at 7:05pm and can be heard on 560AM-KMON starting at 6:50.
