Casper Ghosts News Release

The Ogden Raptors stayed unbeaten in the 2nd half of the season, winning an exciting game over Casper 5-3 Thursday night. Casper left the bases loaded in the 9th after scoring one run in the inning. Daniel Mayora started the Rockies scoring with a 2-run double in the 2nd. That lead would hold until another nightmare 7th for the Rockies bullpen.

For the second straight night the bullpen allowed five runs in the 7th inning. Ogden then brought in nasty set-up man Jordan Pratt and closer Ramon Troncoso to finish off the Rockies.

The win went to Raptors starter Cory Wade and the loss went to reliever Brett Strickland. Anuery Rodriguez, the 17-year old Rockies pitcher was stellar as the starter. He worked five shutout innings, allowing only two hits and striking out five.

The Rockies and Raptors play game two of three Friday night at 7:05. Xavier Cedeno throws for the Rockies against John Meloan.
