Sox Lose to Chukars

Great Falls, MT - Tonight the Great Falls White Sox were defeated by the Idaho Falls Chukars 6-4 at Centene Stadium. Israel Chirino (0-2) took the loss in relief as he worked one inning allowing two unearned runs. The win went to Jacob Eckley (2-1) as he worked one and two-thirds innings, allowing only one hit. The save went to Matt Kniginyzky (3) as he worked two innings allowing one run.

Idaho Falls scored first in the game in the first inning when they were able to get RBI hits by Gary Perez and Felix Peguero. Then in the third inning, the Chukars were able to get a homerun by Perez to go up 3-0.

The Sox would then score in the bottom of the inning on a Garrett Guest RBI single. In the fifth Evan Tartaglia singled home JJ Schmidt. In the sixth inning the Sox tied the game when Matt Tribble scored on an error.

Idaho Falls would then regain the lead in the seventh inning. Two unearned runs scored off Chirino before Andrew Larsen singled in a run in the eighth inning to put the Chukars up 6-3.

Great Falls scored once in the ninth, but ended up losing to the Chukars 6-4.

Tomorrow night the Sox will conclude their home stand as the play the third of three with the Idaho Falls Chukars. The starters for the game are: Eric Everly (LHP) for Great Falls and Bennett Cromer (RHP) for Idaho Falls. Game time is at 4:00pm and can be heard on 560AM-KMON starting at 3:45.
