Sox Lose Series in Orem

Orem, UT - Tonight the Great Falls White Sox were defeated by the Orem Owlz 3-1 in Orem. Travis Doyle (2-1) took the loss for the Sox in relief as he worked three innings, allowing two runs on four hits. The win went to Anthony Sullivan (4-2) as he worked two and a third innings, allowing only one hit. The save went to Kevin Lynch (3) as he worked a perfect ninth.

The Orem Owlz scored first in the game as Hainley Statia had an RBI single in the third. Great Falls would finally get to Orem starter Jose Arredondo in the sixth. Francisco Hernandez singled home a run to tie the game.

Orem would regain the lead in the bottom of the sixth. The first three batters all reached on hits off reliever Travis Doyle. Brett Martinez had the big hit in the inning. It was a two RBI single to center to put Orem up 3-1.

The Sox were unable to comeback in the late innings and would fall 3-1 and drop two of three in this series.

Tomorrow night the Sox will continue the road trip as they take on the Ogden Raptors for the start of a four game series. The starters for the game are: Clayton Richard (LHP) for Great Falls and Maruan Arias (LHP) for Ogden. Game time is at 7:00pm and can be heard on 560AM-KMON starting at 6:45.
