July 18, 2012 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox (48-47) dropped the second game of their four-game series with the Salt Lake Bees (47-50) by the score of 6-4 after a late ninth inning rally fell short in front of 8,126 fans at Security Service Field.

With the Sox trailing 6-2 heading into the final half inning, they pushed across two runs on RBI singles by Charlie Blackmon and Matt McBride but Brendan Harris grounded into a game-ending double play to end the comeback.

Brad Mills (4-4) picked up the win for the Bees after giving up just one hit and scattering nine hits over 6.2 innings of work while striking out six and walking none. It was Mills' first start since being optioned down from the Angels.

Guillermo Moscoso (5-5) was tagged with the loss for Colorado Springs. He surrendered five runs on seven hits and four walks over 5.1 innings.

Salt Lake catcher Hank Conger singled in a run in the first and Andrew Romine hit a sac fly in the second to give the Bees the early 2-0 lead. Sky Sox second baseman Brandon Wood tripled and scored in the fourth on a RBI single by catcher Omir Santos to cut the lead in half at 2-1 but the Bees scored four runs in the sixth to take a 6-2 lead. In that frame, the big blow came off the bat of former Sky Sox Paul McAnulty who drove in two with a single.

Game three of the series is set for tomorrow night at 7:05 PM (MDT) as the Sox send out RH Alex White (1-4, 4.08) to face RH Matt Shoemaker (6-8, 5.63).
