Sox fight back in late innings

Casper, WY ‚¬" Tonight the Great Falls White Sox defeated the Casper Rockies 6-4 at Mike Lansing Field in Casper. Matt Nachreiner (1-1) picked up the win in relief as he worked the eighth inning allowing only one hit. The save went to Ryan Rote (2) as he pitched the ninth allowing only a walk. The loss went to Andrew Johnston (1-1) as he was credited with a blown save allowing three unearned runs.

Great Falls scored first in the ballgame for the third night in a row. Evan Tartaglia led off the game with a single and later scored on a passed ball. Also in the first, Manny Rodriguez would double home Matt Tribble to put the Sox up 2-0.

The score would remain 2-0 until the bottom if the sixth. Casper scored on an RBI single by Eric Young Jr. Great Falls answered in the top of the seventh with a run of their own. It was another RBI double by Rodriguez and it would again score Tribble to put Great Falls up 3-1.

For the third night in a row Casper would come from behind to take a late inning lead. In the bottom of the seventh Casper would load the bases with two men out. Young drilled a fly ball off the centerfield wall for a bases clearing triple to put the Rockies on top 4-3.

Coming into tonight's game Great Falls was 0-11 when trailing in the ninth inning. However, things would change before this one ended. The first two batters reached base on errors before Rodriguez drove home one runner on a fielder choice ground ball. After a Daron Roberts sacrifice bunt, Javier Castillo singled home another runner to give Great Falls the lead. Two batters later Rolando Acosta brought home the third run of the inning on his single to right. Great Falls would come from behind to pick up a much needed 6-4 win over Casper.

Tomorrow night the Sox will play the fourth game of this four game series with the Casper Rockies. The starters for the game are: Eric Everly (LHP) for Great Falls and Anuary Rodriguez (RHP) for Casper. Game time is at 7:05pm and can be heard on 560AM-KMON starting at 6:50.

News and Notes: The Grand Opening of the new ‚¬Å“Great Falls Hall of Fame ‚¬Â will be on July 22nd, when the Sox host the Idaho Falls Chukars. The opening is set for 5pm.
