Sox Fall in Extra Innings

Great Falls, MT - Tonight the Great Falls White Sox were defeated by the Helena Brewers 3-2 in 11 innings at Centene Stadium. Nick Lemon (1-3) took the loss for the Sox as he worked five innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits. The win went to Tyler Morrison (3-0) as he worked five innings, allowing two runs on five hits.

The Brewers would score first in the third inning when they would get a two RBI double by Kenny Holmberg. Great Falls tied the game in the fourth when Manny Rodriguez hit a two-run homer to center to make the score 2-2.

From there the bullpens were terrific. The Sox had Boone Logan and Matt Nachreiner work until the 10th inning without allowing a run. For the Brewers Will Inman worked four innings also without a run.

In the top of the 11th inning, the Brewers scored on a throwing error by Javier Castillo to take the lead. The Brewers would hold off the Sox in the bottom of the inning and went on to a 3-2 win.

The Sox committed four more errors in the game raising their total to 95 on the year. All three runs scored by the Brewers were unearned runs.

Tomorrow night the Sox will play the third game of a three game series with the Helena Brewers. The starters for the game are: Noe Rodriguez (LHP) for Great Falls and Robert Wooley (RHP) for Helena. Game time is at 7:00pm and can be heard on 560AM-KMON starting at 6:45.
