Sox Drop the Ball, Swept by Brewers

Great Falls, MT - Tonight the Great Falls White Sox were defeated by the Helena Brewers 7-4 at Centene Stadium. Noe Rodriguez (0-4) took the loss for the Sox as he worked five innings, allowing five runs (two earned) on eight hits. The win went to Robert Wooley (4-3) as he worked seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits.

Great Falls scored first tonight as they would get an RBI double by JJ Schmidt to go up 1-0. However, the Sox defense would fall apart in the third inning. Four Great Falls errors allowed the Brewers to send to men to the plate. They would score four time, two of them on a two RBI single by Ned Yost.

The Sox scored once in the bottom of the third to cut the lead to 4-2 on a Matt Tribble single to right scoring Evan Tartaglia. Helena would respond in the fifth when they would score on Michael Bell's single before a solo homerun in the sixth inning by Adam Mannon. Helena added another unearned run in the sixth to go up 7-2.

Great Falls added two runs late in the game, but would be swept by the Brewers as they would lose 7-4.

Great Falls added five errors in the game to increase their total to 100 errors on the season.

Tomorrow night the Sox will start a brief two game series at Missoula to take on the Osprey. The starters for the game are: Yunior Novoa (LHP) for Great Falls and Anthony Cupps (RHP) for Missoula. Game time is at 7:05pm and can be heard on 560AM-KMON starting at 6:50.
