South Texas Showboats Starter Placed on I.R.

November 20, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Texas Fuel News Release

The South Texas Showboats announced that starter Langston Grady(Former player of John Jay High School) will be out up to 2 weeks and listed as day to day with a hamstring injury. "I tore the same hamstring a while back and I cannot believe I hurt it again. This is not the way I wanted to start this year but I know I will be back. I have a great team and a great organization and they have a lot of faith in my ability to come back strong and I am very appreciative of having an opportunity of being apart of this ABA franchise in San Antonio." said Grady. The Showboats are disappointed that he will not be able to participate in this weekends I-10 showdown for their last pre-season game. They will play against the Houston Takers and hope Grady is ready for the season opener Saturday, December 6th in San Antonio, TX. The Showboats(3-0) play in Houston in a Benefit game to help with the Hurricane Ike victims. "We have to know that he is in full strength and can participate in a full contact practice before he can be active. He is a great asset to this team and brings a lot of leadership, intensity and energy to the floor and we know he can still bring it to the team during our games." said CEO/Head Coach Mireles.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
