Kentucky Bisons Named Honorary Grand Marshalls In Christmas Parade

Owensboro, KY. The ABA Kentucky Bisons, Owensboro's new professional basketball team, will be this year's Honorary Marshalls for the holiday parad. Keith Lawrence, reporter for the Messenger-Inquirer is the Grand Marshall.

The Bisons tip off the season December 6th with an away game against Knoxville and have their home opener at the SportsCenter on December 11th. The team plays a pre-season game at home this Sunday, November 23rd at 3pm against the ABA Chicago Steam. "We are extremely thankful to everyone in Owensboro for the support and welcome they have shown," said Jay Sills, owner and CEO of the team. "My jaw hit the floor when we were asked to be honorary grand marshals for the parade. I am very aware of the fact that Owensboro hosts one of the largest parades in Kentucky and we are grateful for this honor."

The parade travels through downtown Owensboro on Saturday, November 22nd. The theme this year is a version of "Oh Let Your Light Shine." The parade started promptly at 430pm and includes lighted floats, music, and of course, Santa Claus himself. The parade route has changed this year from the last.
