Number Two Ranked Texas Fuel Keep On Winning

January 8, 2009 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Texas Fuel News Release

San Antonio, TX. The second ranked ABA Texas Fuel pulled off another victory by beating the Texas City Rangers 117-98 as they get set for a showdown battle this weekend with the number one ranked Southeast Texas Mustangs. The Fuel, who were led in scoring by Isaiah Allen with 27 points and Keith Simpson with 20, beat the Rangers in their first home game in the new year.

Despite being faced with adversity early in the game by being in foul trouble with a total of 28 team fouls in the game and the leading scorer for the Rangers scoring 50 points, the Fuel was still able to maintain their lead throughout the game.

The Fuel also had an outstanding performance from point guard Leonard Brown with 19 points and 12 assists. "We are feeling very good about how things have been going," stated team owner/Coach Marlon Minifee. "But we certainly are anything but cocky as we know that the teams in our conference are very good and that there is great strength throughout the league. We get a real test this weekend."

The Fuel's next home game will be Sunday, Jan 11th versus the Mississippi Blues. For more information, visit www.texasfuel.com or www.abalive.com.
