Nashville Sounds News Release
NASHVILLE -- The 6 p.m. series opener between the Nashville Sounds and Portland Beavers on Saturday evening at Greer Stadium was postponed due to unplayable field conditions. The decision came approximately 90 minutes after the scheduled start time.
The teams will engage in a 2:00 p.m. doubleheader on Sunday afternoon to make up the contest.
Left-hander Dave Williams (1-1, 3.05) will start the opener for the Sounds and face Portland right-hander Brian Sweeney (5-1, 2.44). In the nightcap, Nashville left-hander Sean Burnett (1-0, 3.72) will take the hill and square off against Beavers right-hander Justin Germano (0-1, 1.54).
Saturday's postponement was the second in a row for the Sounds, who lost their scheduled series finale against Tacoma due to rain on Friday.
