Nashville Sounds News Release
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club is pleased to announce five internal promotions as well as the addition of three new full-time members to its front office staff.
Jason Franke, who has served as the Sounds' Director of Corporate Partnerships since December 2011, has been promoted to Assistant General Manager of Sales & Marketing. In his new role, he will oversee all elements of sales, marketing, and promotions for the club. Prior to joining the Sounds, Franke spent the previous 12 seasons with the PGA Championship, Tampa Bay Lightning, Utah Jazz, and Detroit Pistons.
"Jason's sponsorship and entertainment management experience combined with his successful first year in Music City will provide a solid base for leadership. I am excited to elevate him to this key position on our corporate team," said Sounds general manager Brad Tammen.
Other internal promotions for the Sounds include:
Drew Himsworth has been elevated to the team's Director of Group Sales & Hospitality after serving as Sales & Sports Marketing Manager since joining the team in January 2009. He directly manages the Sounds' group sales department and oversees the management of the club's sales & marketing interns.
AJ Rockwell and Kevin Samborski, who have worked in the club's ticket sales department for three and two seasons, respectively, have each been elevated to the role of Senior Account Executive. In addition to their duties of season ticket and group sales, Rockwell oversees the team's highly successful Faith Nights(r) program, while Samborski manages the club's outreach to the area Scouting programs and oversees the team's Music Industry Night.
Brandon Yerger received a promotion to the role of Corporate Partnerships & Promotions Manager. He has worked in many roles for the team since joining the Sounds in February 2009, most recently as Account Coordinator in the sales department. His duties include corporate partnership fulfillment, selling groups and sponsorships, and overseeing all gameday promotions and elements for the club.
"Each of these four individuals has worked diligently and demonstrated effective results for the Sounds and are very deserving of their new roles within our sales department," Tammen said.
The three new full-time members of the Sounds' front office staff include:
* Alex Wassel, Media Relations Manager
* Josh Barnes, Account Executive
* Justin Webster, Account Executive
Wassel will oversee the team's publications, website, social media, and graphic design efforts while acting as the primary media liaison for baseball information. Prior to joining the Sounds, the Middle Tennessee native and University of Tennessee graduate spent three seasons with the Class A Great Lakes (Mich.) Loons, most recently as Director of Communications, after beginning his baseball career by serving a media relations internship with the cross-state rival Memphis Redbirds.
Barnes and Webster will be responsible for season ticket and group sales at Greer Stadium.
Barnes, whose duties also include management of the Sounds' "Field of Dreams" program for area Little League teams, completed a sales & marketing internship with the Sounds last summer. The Gallatin, Tenn. native graduated from Lambuth University with a Business Administration degree.
Webster, whose duties also include the management of the team's Shining Stars fundraising program and assisting with Faith Nights, also got his start in professional baseball by completing a sales & marketing internship for the Sounds last summer. The Springboro, Ohio native received his Sport Management degree from Ohio University.
"We are excited to add this group of experienced professionals to our staff," said Tammen. "I am pleased to have them play important roles with the Sounds in helping to grow our brand of family-friendly and affordable entertainment."
