Sounders FC Adds 2015 Spanish Television Broadcast Deal with Sinclair Media

SEATTLE, WASH. - Seattle Sounders FC today announced a new regional Spanish television broadcast deal for the 2015 season, with the club partnering with Sinclair Broadcast Group to air Sounders FC Spanish-language programming on Univision-Seattle (KUNS-TV) and This TV (American Sports Network) for the seventh consecutive season. A minimum of 10 Sounders FC matches are being carried by Sinclair Broadcast Group in the coming year, beginning this Saturday, April 4, when the Rave Green take on the Houston Dynamo (7:00 p.m. PT / Univision-Seattle). Additional Spanish-language matches may be added to the schedule at a later date. Univision-Seattle (KUNS-TV) is set to air 15 30-minute Spanish-language magazine shows throughout the season.

"We are pleased to continue our partnership with Univision-Seattle and This TV as we progress into our seventh MLS season," said Sounders FC Owner Adrian Hanauer. "Being able to televise our matches to a regional Spanish-language audience is something we truly value, and we're excited to kick-off the renewed partnership this weekend with the Houston match."

Hosted by Univision-Seattle's play-by-play voice Jaime Mendez and analyst Diego Arrioja, Sounders FC Fî=BAtbol en Vivo has quickly become a popular addition to the Seattle television landscape. In addition to Saturday's match against Houston, tentatively scheduled matches on This TV include three Cascadia fixtures against Vancouver Whitecaps FC, as well as Western Conference rivalry matches against Sporting Kansas City, FC Dallas, San Jose Earthquakes, Colorado Rapids and Real Salt Lake. The club's September 5 matchup against Toronto FC will also be aired on This TV.

"There are a lot of Hispanic fî=BAtbol fans in the Seattle area, and we believe they should have access to the Sounders matches in Spanish," said Janene Drafs, Vice President & General Manager of Sinclair Broadcast Group of Seattle. Univision-Seattle (KUNS-TV) is also the home for Sounders FC en Acciî"n, a weekly 30-minute recap show hosted by Mendez. Sounders FC en Acciî"n gives Western Washington's Hispanic community and Sounders FC fans an inside look at their favorite Seattle Sounders FC players with exclusive interviews and appearances. Mendez recaps all the Sounders FC highlights and stats - covering the key happenings in the past week's action - previewing upcoming matches, and bringing viewers up-to-speed with MLS updates from around the league. A total of 15 locally produced Sounders FC en Acciî"nshows run on Saturday eveningsat 6:00 p.m. PT on Univision-Seattle (KUNS-TV).

Sounders FC returns to action this Saturday, April 4 for a home matchup with the Houston Dynamo. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m., with the match being broadcast live on Q13 FOX and This TV.
