PHILADELPHIA (May 17, 2011) - The Philadelphia Soul were involved in a three-way trade that sent quarterback Justin Allgood (6'2, 240, Central Oklahoma) to the Tulsa Talons for the rights to wide receiver Rodney Wright (5'9, 175, Fresno State). The team then traded Wright to the San Jose SaberCats in exchange for lineman Patrick Afif (6'6, 320, Washington State) and future considerations.

"We were able to address a need and get value back for Justin," said Soul head coach Mike Hohensee. "I think the moves helped all teams involved and allowed us to continue to improve the team as we battle for the Eastern Division title."

Afif, who is in his third year in the AFL, was an anchor on San Jose's offensive line during their 2007 ArenaBowl XXI victory. Afif played with the Orlando Predators in 2010. The future considerations could involve a player on San Jose roster and would need to be completed by June 29.

The Philadelphia Soul (3-6) will travel to play the Cleveland Gladiators (5-3) on Saturday, May 21 at 7 p.m. ET at the Quicken Loans Arena. The game can be seen locally on WMCN-TV or on webcast on NiFTyTV (AFL Live) with the link available on www.philadelphiasoul.com. This will be the first meeting of the season between the Eastern Division rivals and first since the Soul defeated the Gladiators, 70-35, in the 2008 semifinals.
