Sosa Named Offensive Player of the Month

Kansas City Comets News Release
Kansas City Comets defender John Sosa has earned MASL Offensive Player of the Month for December.
The veteran recorded 11 points from three goals and eight assists throughout December. Averaging 2.0 points per game this season, the veteran now leads the league in points with 16 and assists with 11.
"You're always grateful to win awards like this, but at the end of the day, it's about wins and losses," Sosa said. "Last month was an inconsistent month for us, so it wasn't ideal."
While classified as a defender, Sosa takes great joy in his offensive abilities, "I'm a converted defender. My game has always been offensive, especially in outdoor, so I'm grateful things are working out so far in terms of stats. I just want to win more games."
Sosa is a major threat with the ability to directly score and the ability to set up a teammate to score. That is nothing new to the Comets this season.
"I'm always kind of looking for my teammates. I've been kind of lucky this year since I've been able to find them open many times and it's working for us."
As the team struggled to convert chances early on this season, Sosa played a key role in sparking the Comets offense to life.
The Comets are back in action on Saturday, January 7, when Sosa welcomes back former teammate Danny Waltman and the Tacoma Stars. Tickets are available at www.kccomets.com/tickets.
