
Soo Eagles Travel to Janesville to Take on First-Place Jets

The Soo Eagles have a chance to move into first place in the North Division this weekend, as they travel to Janesville, Wisconsin, for a pair of games against the Jets, this Friday and Saturday night's at 7 p.m. (CST).
With a sweep, the Eagles could pull into a first-place tie with the Jets, who currently are four points ahead of the second-place Eagles.

The Eagles are led in scoring by Sandis Zolmanis, who has 8 goals and 15 assists on the season. Keegan Miller has 10 goals and 12 assists, while Mitch Vanderburg is 5-12- 17.
The Jets are led in scoring by Zach Lavalle, who has 11 goals and 18 assists on the season. Brandon Schultz has 12 goals and 15 assists, while Evan Feno is 4-16- 20.
Sean Keating is 9-6-0 for the Soo Eagles, with a goals against average of 2.69 and a save percentage of .907. Jack Berry is 6-6-0-1, with a GAA of 2.77 and a SV% of .911.
Matt Jurusik is 10-5-0 for the Janesville Jets, with a goals against average of 2.21 and a save percentage of .911. Jared Rutledge is 4-2-0, with a GAA of 1.99 and a SV% of .919.
These two teams have met four times this season, all in Sault Ste. Marie, with the Jets holding a 3-1 advantage. The Eagles and Jets will face each other six more times after this weekend, including January 30-31 at Pullar Stadium.
The Eagles will be at Michigan on Wednesday night to take on the Warriors, on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Eagles will be at home next Friday at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday at 7:00 p.m., for their only home series of the month.
