
Sockers to Serve 1,600 Homeless at Early Thanksgiving Meal

WHO: The San Diego Rescue Mission, the San Diego Sockers and the Rock Church.
WHAT: The San Diego Rescue Mission is joining over 275 Missions across the country to provide over 300,000 meals to homeless and needy people this Thanksgiving. The San Diego Rescue Mission will host over 1600 guests as part of its Great Thanks-giving Banquet. More than a Thanksgiving feast for the homeless and needy in San Diego, guests will be offered free haircuts, clothing and performances. Players from the San Diego Sockers and volunteers from the Rock church will be assisting with the festivities.
WHEN: TUESDAY, November 26th, 1:30 Â 6:00 PM
1:30 PM Doors open for free services
3:00 PM Thanksgiving meals begin
WHERE: San Diego Rescue Mission
1150 J Street (between 11th and 12th) San Diego, CA
WHY: Over 6,500 people will be homeless in the city of San Diego this Thanksgiving, but that does not include the thousands more who are struggling to keep up with the high cost of living in San Diego. By offering a meal and services free during this banquet, the Mission hopes to make this Thanksgiving a special one for those who need it most in San Diego.
