Sockers Select Three in 2022 MASL College Draft

San Diego Sockers News Release

The San Diego Sockers today participated in the first-ever MASL College Draft, held by teleconference earlier this afternoon. There were three rounds of selection, the first two consisting of territorial/regional picks, and the third an open draft round. Selecting twelfth, the Sockers chose:

1)Jessie Gonzalez, Midfielder (Mira Costa College/Cardiff Sockers)

2)Joshua Aboytes Villanueva, Goalkeeper (Cuyamaca College)

3)Gael Ruiz, Midfielder (San Diego Christian College)

All three players have been assigned to the Sockers' developmental squad, SDSockers2.
