
Sockers Offer Exciting Giveaways, Entertainment In Back-to-Back Home Stint

The San Diego Sockers are excited to announce the best giveaway of the year.. The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a free full-size soccer ball, courtesy of Locust at the February 28 game when Western Conference rivals, the Kansas City Comets, come to town for a 7 p.m. match up.
Members of the U.S. National Team and San Diego Spirit, including Shannon McMillian, Joy Fawcett, Kim Pickup and others, will be on-hand to sign autographs and compete with lucky fans in a soccer skills competition at halftime.
The City of San Diego is also sponsoring a Recycle Night. Fans that bring 10 or more recyclable items to the game will receive a 2-for-1 voucher to any Sockers 2003 home game in the month of March.
The team will return to action a day later, when they take on the Philadelphia KiXX, Saturday, March 1 at 7 p.m. The night has been designated Military Appreciation Night. San Diegans are encourage to attend the game in support of the more than 100,000 troops serving our country overseas.
A pre-game performance by the Navy Band and MCRD color guard will start things off while members of the San Diego SWAT team will repel from the Sports Arena rafters following player introductions. Halftime will consist of a demonstration by the Navy K-9 Unit and presentations to Marine/Sailor of the Quarter and Marine/Sailor of the Year.
