
Broadcast Team Announced

(Westport, Ct. â February 26, 2003) Major Indoor Soccer League Commissioner, Steve Ryan announced the broadcast team for the 2003 MISL All-Star Game to be broadcast on Fox Sports World, in prime time, on Friday, March 21, 2003 from 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The MISL All-Star Game is being played on Sunday, March 9, 2003 at 1:30 PM in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the Bradley Center.
Fox Sports World is currently available to over 16 million homes through affiliated cable systems, and through DirecTV and Dish Network satellite providers. Fox Sports World is affiliated with Fox Sports International, an international sports programming and production entity housed within the Fox Cable Networks Group, one of the major operating units within the Fox Entertainment Group and News Corporation.
The broadcast crew will feature two of indoor soccer's most experienced indoor soccer voices in North America. Doing the play-by-play will be Al Pawlowski, the voice of the MISL's Cleveland Force.. Pawlowski is in his fifth season as the Force play-by-play announcer. The Twinsburg, Ohio native, is a graduate of John Carroll University and currently is an on-air talent for Jones Radio Network, a nationally syndicated "Smooth Jazz" format. Pawlowski is also known for his "AL TV" at the Cleveland Indians baseball games at Jacobs Field This will be Pawlowski's second consecutive year as the MISL All-Star Game play-by play announcer.
One of soccer's greatest goaltenders, Shep Messing is slated to be the broadcast's color analyst after participating in The MISL Legends Game earlier in the day. Messing, one of soccer's all-time great goaltenders, was a member of the United States National Team and later played professionally with the New York Cosmos, where he played with many legendary soccer players, including Pele, who came out of retirement in 1975 to play with the Cosmos.. Messing was also one of the early stars of indoor soccer. He was selected many times as a MISL All-Star while playing for the New York Arrows. While playing for the Arrows, Messing captured virtually every goalkeeping title in the MISL. In March of 2000 the New York MetroStars, of Major League Soccer, added Messing to their broadcast team on Madison Square Garden Network. Messing was one of broadcasters for the ESPN World Cup broadcast.
The "Voice in the crowd and on the bench" will be San Diego's Mark Rogondino. Rogondino attended San Diego State University. While at San Diego State, Rogondino hosted a radio show on the University radio station and most recently worked as a producer for Fox Sports World. Rogondino is in his second season as a broadcaster for the San Diego Sockers, and his first on the Cox Channel 4. This will be Rogondino's first appearance on the MISL All-Star Game broadcast team.
The Major Indoor Soccer League is a single-entity organization featuring a coast-to-coast presence with eight teams located across the United States. The MISL is "the single major league of indoor soccer", playing a 144-game schedule that began on September 28, 2002 and concludes on March 23, 2003.
