SAN DIEGO (Saturday, December 2, 2017 - #17-MP06) - The 14-time champion San Diego Sockers return home to face their playoff nemesis the Sonora Soles on Sunday, December 3, 5:05 p.m., at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego . The Soles ousted the Sockers in last year's Western Conference Finals.

San Diego moved to 5-0 on the season after defeating the Tacoma Stars, 4-3, last night in the Pacific N orthwest. Captain Kraig Chiles led the team with three points on two goals and one assist. Goalkeeper Boris Pardo improved his record to 3-0 while shutting down the potent Stars offense. The Sockers hold a three-game advantage in the Pacific Division.

Sonora, who is off to a slow start, features a trio of offensive weapons, forward Franck Tayou (11 pts), midfielder Gustavo Rosales (8) and forward Anibal Echeverria (5). The game will also mark the return of longtime Sockers defender Victor Quiroz to San Diego. He was traded to the Soles last week for future considerations. Sonora got their first win of the year in a 14-13 overtime win over Rio Grande Valley on Thursday.

Expect a shootout as both teams are averaging over seven goals per game. However, the Soles are giving up an average of 10 goals per game, while the Sockers defense has a stingy 3.13 GAA.

Sunday's match is So Cal Youth Soccer Night. The first 2,500 fans will receive a free Sockers Team Poster. A postgame autograph session will be held on the field. The gates open at 4:00 p.m. Parking at the Valley View Casino Center is always free, courtesy of the team.

The game will be broadcast on MASL.TV on YouTube with Craig Elsten and Nate Abaurrea on the call. Supporters can also follow on social media at @SanDiegoSockers & #SanDiegoSockers.
