Deja Vu

The win last night was the second over the Sidekicks this season and the 34th all-time in regular-season play. San Diego leads the overall regular season series against Dallas, dating back to the early 1980s, 43-20.
Last Night: San Diego 15, Dallas 10
DALLAS, Texas-- The San Diego Sockers beat the Dallas Sidekicks, 15-10, tonight at Reunion Arena in Dallas, Texas. Both teams will travel back to San Diego to play tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the San Diego Sports Arena.
The Sockers (4-4) hit .500 and hold strong to their second-place standing in the Western Conference with tonight's victory.
Carlos "Chile" Farias had a phenomenal game, scoring three goals and registering one assist. Shawn Beyer tallied two goals, while Robbie Aristodemo scored one goal. Captain Alejandro Cardenas scored the team's only three-pointer of the night with a stellar shot from 75 feet out to the top left corner of the goal.
Dallas scored first, but the Sockers led 9-2 at halftime and despite a 9-6 comeback by the Sidekicks, never lost their lead. DJ Horvath led the Sockers in the goal with 20 saves, while defender Gaston Pernia totaled five blocks.
Is This A Streak?
The Sockers have their first ever winning streak of the season with a 2-0 record in the last two games.
Farias Tops MISL Leaderboard
Chile Farias is tied for first with Kansas City's Dino Delevski on the MISL's list of leading scorers with 34 points. Joe Reiniger of Milwaukee is third with 24 points and Kansas City's Nate Houser and former Socker Paul Wright of Baltimore are tied with 22 apiece. Farias also is tied for the lead in three-point goals in the MISL with the two he scored against Kansas City on Oct. 19 at Kansas City.
Pernia Among League's Block Leaders
Defender Gaston Pernia has blocked 24 opponent shots, putting him in a tie for first in the MISL. Baltimore's Jason Dieter has also turned away 19. Pernia led the Sockers and the World Indoor Soccer League in blocks last season with 53 in 23 games.
Vorberg Just Behind Nogueira in Points-Against Average
Goalkeeper Nick Vorberg remains near the top among MISL net-minders with a 7.89 points-against average, just behind Milwaukee's Victor Nogueira (7.35). He is expected to start in tonight's matchup against the Sidekicks.
Hit the Road, Socks
After tonight's game, San Diego embarks on a five-game road trip. The five straight road games will take them to Milwaukee, Philadelphia (twice), Baltimore and Harrisburg. As the only MISL team in either the Mountain or Pacific time zones, the Sockers are about a three-hour plane ride from even their nearest competition and will log more air miles to the East Coast than even the NBAand NHL teams, who don't face Eastern competition as often in their unbalanced schedule.
